Jason and Baby Connect

Those flutters have turned into kicks!  And for the past several days Jason has been able to feel our little one stretch and somersault from the other side of the belly!  This is by far the most fun we've had during my pregnancy!  I've been going to the gym to do light workouts and prenatal yoga in an effort to build up my strength for the marathon (birth) I'll be facing in June!  I hear the stronger and healthier you are the shorter and easier your labor???  Hmmmm....

Five days left until we see if Baby Schager is a little girl or boy!  Can't wait!

Flutter Flutter

Yep!  It's official - I've been feeling flutters for the past four days or so!  It's amazing and every time I notice one I have to smile.  It's the most gentle and sweet feeling -  and it resembles just a little bit of pulsating pressure (at least for now!).  I love this part of pregnancy!  We're lining up our birthing classes and should be starting next month.  And we have an appointment set for our ultrasound on Feb. 3rd.  Hopefully the mystery will be revealed...boy or girl?

Four Months

This week we had our second prenatal visit with our midwife.  We listened to the heartbeat again, this time it was much louder and very distinct - it sounded like a train on the doppler!  My uterus has indeed grown with this little one!  At our first visit I measured 10 cm from the top of my pubic bone to the top of my uterus and this visit we measured in at 16 cm!  It's normal to expect 1 cm growth per week from now on - yikes!  We asked our midwife Dolly if she thought I might have twins in there, and she suspects not - phew!  Jason and I are so anxious to take a peek in there with our ultrasound next month and see if it's a girl or boy.  It looks like our appointment will be in the first week of February - we'll keep you posted!
